Step 1: Blot Up the Excess Vomit

Using a clean cloth or paper towels, blot up as much of the vomit as possible. Taking the time to absorb the liquid will make it easier to prevent the stain from setting deep into the mohair material.

Step 2: Dilute Stain with Cold Water

After blotting up the excess vomit, create a solution of cold water and a mild detergent like dish soap. Then, dip a clean rag into the solution and place it over vomit stain. Let this sit for about 10 minutes before blotting up the excess water.

Step 3: Pre-Treat the Stain

Pre-treat the vomit stain with an enzyme-based pre-treatment product if needed. These products are designed to break apart tough stains like vomit and help to lift them away from fabrics. Carefully follow the instructions on packaging and always use the smallest amount necessary to pre-treat the stain.

Step 4: Rinse Away and Wash in Warm Water

Rinse the stain with lukewarm water and a clean cloth. Once the area is rinsed, wash the mohair item according to the directions on the garment care label. Use a gentle detergent, and avoid using any fabric softener or bleach. To dry garment, lay it flat in a sunny spot and let it air dry.
