What You'll Need:

  • Mild Detergent
  • Water
  • Baking Soda
  • White Vinegar
  • Small Bucket
  • Soft Cloth or Sponge
  • Toothbrush (optional)

Step 1: Soak the Fabric in Mild Detergent and Water

The first step is to create a soapy solution. Mix equal parts mild detergent and cool water in a bucket. Submerge stained lace and allow it to soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Be sure not to use hot water, as it could cause the lace to shrink.

Step 2: Mix a Baking Soda Paste and Blot with Vinegar

Mix baking soda and water together in a bowl to form a paste. Gently apply the paste to the stained areas with a soft cloth or sponge. Blot the fabric with white vinegar to neutralize any remaining odors.

Step 3: Rinse and Air-Dry

Rinse fabric thoroughly until all of the paste and soap is gone. Let the lace dry naturally away from direct sunlight or heat. If any stubborn stains remain, use a toothbrush to lightly scrub the area while the fabric is still wet. Once the fabric is dry, inspect it for any remaining traces of stain.

Conclusion

Vomit stains on delicate fabrics such as lace no longer have to be a cause for concern. By following these simple steps, you can easily remove the stain and preserve the delicate beauty of your lace fabric.
