- Since vomit is acidic in nature, the first step is to neutralize acid with baking soda. Sprinkle some baking soda onto the affected area and allow it to sit for a few minutes. This will help dissolve the proteins that are in the vomit.
- Once baking soda has had time to work, use a damp cloth or sponge to remove it. It’s important to make sure that you are using a non-abrasive cloth as not to damage the surface of your kitchen utensils.
- For tougher stains, try combining one part vinegar with two parts warm water. Use a clean cloth or sponge to mix the solution and then apply to affected area. Allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off with clean water.
- If there is still residue, create a mild detergent solution by combining 2-3 drops of dish soap with warm water. Soak a small rag in the mixture and scrub the remaining stain. This should help loosen up stain and make it easier to remove.
- Once you have finished cleaning area, dry off the surfaces with paper towels. This will help prevent any remaining residue from settling into the nooks and crannies of the utensils.
