It’s not easy to handle the mess of vomit stains, especially on your favorite articles of clothing. But don’t fear — you don’t need to throw away that beloved J.Crew dress or shirt just yet. Here’s how to tackle those vomit stains to restore original look of your garments.
Before you start treating the vomit stains, you need to carefully remove any excess residue. Gently scrape off the dried vomit particles using a dull knife or spoon. Then, rinse the stained area with cold water. For more stubborn stains, you may have to use a stain remover such as an enzyme-based product.
Once you have sufficiently removed the excess residue from the stained fabric, it’s time to treat the area. Use a gentle soap and lukewarm water to scrub the stain until it starts to fade. Be sure to avoid using harsh detergents on your J.Crew garment — they can damage the fabric and cause discoloration.
After treating stained area, rinse the fabric with cool water to get rid of any lingering residue. Then, air-dry the garment or machine wash it according to the care label instructions. If the stain persists, repeat the steps above until it is completely gone.
