The first step to removing vomit stains from Irish crochet is to act quickly. If the vomit has already dried, it will be much more difficult to remove. You’ll need to use more vigorous cleaning techniques, which could damage delicate fabric.
Once you’ve identified vomit-stained area of your Irish crochet, use a light cloth or paper towel to gently blot away any excess vomit. Do not rub! Doing so will only cause stain to penetrate the fabric further, making it harder to remove.
For this step, you’ll need a mild detergent and some warm water. Mix the two together until they form a solution that is light enough not to damage the fabric of your Irish crochet.
Once you’ve created the detergent solution, immerse the stained fabric in it. Allow the fabric to soak for 15 minutes before removing it and lightly wringing it out.
Once you’ve removed fabric from the detergent solution, rinse it with cold water until all of the residue has been removed. Once finished, lightly wring out the fabric once more and lay it flat to dry.
