Steps for Removing Vomit Stains from Handbags & Purses

  • Wet affected area of the bag with cold water. This helps dilute vomit, making it easier to clean up.
  • Sprinkle baking soda over the vomited area and lightly work it into the fabric with a soft brush. Allow baking soda to sit and absorb the liquids on the fabric of the bag.
  • Remove the baking soda and wet fabric again with cold water. Blot the area with a clean cloth to further remove any remaining bacteria.
  • Apply a small amount of laundry detergent directly onto the stain and scrub it gently into the fabric.
  • Rinse the soap off with cold water and blot the area again with a clean cloth.
  • If the stain is still visible, apply a small amount of white vinegar and water solution directly onto the fabric and scrub it gently.
  • Rinse the area with cold water and blot again with a clean cloth to remove all the soap and vinegar.
  • Allow the area to dry and repeat these steps if necessary.
