Step 1: Remove Excess Vomit

Begin by removing as much of the vomit as possible with a paper towel or rag. Be sure to blot rather than rub the vomit so that it doesn’t spread to other areas of the garment. You can also use a vacuum to remove any remaining particles.

Step 2: Soak the Stain

Once you have removed the excess vomit, soak the stained area of garment in warm water mixed with a teaspoon of liquid dish soap. This will help to loosen the stain and make it easier to remove. Let fabric soak for about an hour, then check it for progress. If necessary, you can soak the fabric for an additional hour.

Step 3: Wash the Garment

Next, wash the garment in your washing machine using the hottest water setting allowed for the type of fabric. For best results, add a tablespoon of white vinegar to the wash cycle as this will help to remove any lingering odors. Once the cycle is complete, transfer garment to dryer.

Step 4: Check the Results

Once garment is dry, inspect the area that was stained with the vomit. If you still see some residue, repeat steps two and three. If the stain has been sufficiently removed, enjoy your pristine flannel garment!
