Despite their comfortable fit and breathability, espadrilles are not always easy to keep in tip-top condition. In event of vomit stains, you need to act quickly, but effectively, before the stain sets! Here's what to do.

Use a spoon or a blunt knife to scrape off solids from the surface of your espadrilles. Work gently, so as not to cause any damage. Proceed only when the affected area is free of large chunks.
Mix one part white vinegar and four parts warm water in a bowl. Dip a sponge into solution and then squeeze it until it is just damp. Do not drench it.
Start by scrubbing the vomit stain gently, using a circular motion. Don't scrub too hard, as you don't want to damage material. Increase pressure as necessary, but with caution.
Once the stain has faded and all traces of the cleaning solution have been rinsed away, pour cold water onto the espadrilles. This helps to remove any residue from either vomit or the cleaning solution.
Finally, take a clean cloth and pat the affected area until it is completely dry. Hang your espadrilles up in a warm, dry place and let them air dry completely. Do not risk putting them in the washing machine, as this could lead to further damage.
