When it comes to cleaning vomit off fabric, key is to act quickly before the stain has a chance to set. The best method for removing vomit stains from certain fabrics, such as Duchesse lace, is a combination of baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, white cloth and some plain soap. Here's how it works:

  • Start by sprinkling baking soda over the vomit stain and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  • Mix 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide with 2 tablespoons of plain soap in a bowl.
  • Dampen a clean white cloth and dab at the stain. Be sure not to rub or scrub too hard, as this could damage delicate fabric of the Duchesse lace.
  • Pour hydrogen peroxide and soap mixture onto the stain, and add more as needed. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • Rinse cloth with warm water and blot at the stain until it's gone.
  • Once vomit stain is completely gone, rinse the area with cold water and let the fabric air dry.

The combination of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide should easily remove vomit stains from Duchesse lace. But if any traces remain, you can also try using a spot treatment of dyes or mild detergents. Just be sure to never use bleach, as it could discolor fabric.

No matter what type of fabric you're dealing with, always keep safety in mind when cleaning vomit stains. Wear rubber gloves and keep any chemicals away from your eyes and skin.
