Removing Dried Vomit Stains
- Put on a pair of disposable gloves to protect your hands.
- Create a cleaning solution by mixing 1/4 teaspoon of mild laundry detergent with 1 quart (1 liter) of room temperature water.
- Saturate stained area with the cleaning solution and gently massage material.
- Rinse with warm water and repeat if necessary.
- Gently squeeze out excess moisture from the material.
- Place the garment on a towel, cover with another towel, and press with your hands to remove additional moisture.
- If stain hasn’t completely come out, mix together 1 cup (240 ml) of white vinegar and 1 quart (1 liter) of warm water. Saturate the stained area and let it sit for 30 minutes.
- Rinse the area with the vinegar solution and warm water.
- Launder the garment according to the care instructions.
Removing Fresh Vomit Stains
- Scrape off any excess vomit from the fabric using a dull knife or spoon.
- Saturate the stained area with cold water and scrub gently.
- Mix together a solution of 1/2 teaspoon of mild laundry detergent and 1 cup (240 ml) of cold water.
- Pour the mixture onto the stained area and let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Rinse out the solution with cold water and blot with a soft cloth.
- Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar with 1 cup (240 ml) of cold water.
- Saturate stained area with the vinegar solution and let it sit for 30 minutes.
- Rinse the area with cold water and blot dry.
- Launder the garment according to care instructions.
