First, you need to scrape off any excess vomit that is still on the drapes or curtains. Use a pointed utensil such as a chopstick to gently scrape off remaining chunks of vomit.
Once you have scraped off the excess vomit, you can begin to blot the stain with cold water and a mild detergent. Dip a clean cloth in soapy water and then dab stain continuously until it has been blotted as much as possible. Try not to rub area as this may cause the stain to spread further.
Next, you will need to apply a spot cleaner specifically designed for fabrics to the stain. You can find these cleaners at most grocery stores or online. Follow the instructions on the bottle and apply cleaner directly to the fabric. Allow the cleaner to sit on fabric for a few minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
Once the spot cleaner has been applied and rinsed off, you will need to wash the drapes or curtains in a washing machine. Set the machine to a cold water setting and use a mild detergent. Do not use bleach or other harsh chemicals as this may damage the fabric.
Once the fabric has been washed, hang it up to dry. Do not put it in the dryer as this may set the stain. If the stain is still visible, repeat steps 2-4 until the stain has been completely removed.
Vomit stains can be some of the most stubborn stains to remove, but with these simple steps, you can get your drapes, curtains, and other fabrics back to their original state. Good luck!
