Start by mixing together one part lemon juice or vinegar with two parts baking soda. You can also use salt instead if you don’t have any of other ingredients available. Once the ingredients are completely combined, you should have a thick and gooey paste.
Once the paste is ready, simply apply it to the affected cutting board and use a scrub brush to work the paste into the surface. Be sure to pay special attention to any areas that have dried vomit as they'll be the most challenging to remove. Keep scrubbing until the entire area with the vomit stain is thoroughly scrubbed.
Once the paste has been scrubbed into the cutting board, rinse it off with warm water. Be sure to remove all of the paste from the board so that there are no residue bits left behind.
Using a sponge and some dish soap, give the cutting board a good scrubbing. This will help ensure that any lingering vomit residue is completely removed from the surface. Rinse off the dish soap once you're done scrubbing and dry the board with a clean cloth.
Once board is clean and dry, sanitize it with a solution of 1 teaspoon of bleach diluted in 1 quart of water. Let the board sit in the solution for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. This will help kill any harmful bacteria that may still be present.
