Materials Needed
- White vinegar
- Baking soda
- Liquid laundry detergent
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Scrub brush
- Clean towels
Instructions
- Mix two tablespoons of vinegar and one teaspoon of baking soda in a cup of cold water. Then use a scrub brush to apply the mixture to affected area.
- Allow the mixture to sit for ten minutes before rinsing with cold water.
- Apply liquid laundry detergent directly to the stain. Gently rub it in with your fingers.
- Let it sit for five minutes before rinsing with cold water.
- If the stain is still visible, mix one part hydrogen peroxide and two parts water. Apply the mixture to affected area using a clean towel and allow it to sit for 10 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly with cold water.
- Repeat Steps 1-6 until the stain is gone.
Tips
- Make sure to use only cold water when cleaning vomit stains; hot water can set the stain and make it more difficult to remove.
- For stubborn stains, try adding a few drops of liquid dishwashing detergent to the hydrogen peroxide and water mixture.
- Be careful not to rub fabric too hard, as this can cause the fabric to fray or become discolored.
