Using a spoon or similar tool, scrape up as much of the vomit as you can from surface of the collared shirt. Be sure to use this item carefully; you don't want to push or rub vomit stain into the fabric.
Sprinkle a generous amount of starch onto the vomit stain. Fill a spray bottle with warm water and mist the area lightly. Let the starch sit on the fabric for around 15 minutes before continuing.
Launder shirt according to the instructions on the garment care tag. Optionally, include a stain-fighting detergent as part of the wash cycle.
Once the wash cycle is finished, check the shirt for any remaining vomit stains. Apply a small amount of pre-treatment to any areas that still show signs of stain and then run shirt through the wash cycle again.
Hang the shirt to dry or use the low heat setting on your clothes dryer. Using too much heat can set the stain, making it difficult to remove.
