Step 1: Remove Excess Vomit

Using a paper towel, remove any excess vomit material from dress. Be sure to handle the fabric carefully and avoid scrubbing or wiping too hard.

Step 2: Soak in Cold Water

Fill a bathtub or sink with cold water, and then submerge the dress. Allow the garment to soak in the water for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 3: Pre-treat the Stain

Create a mixture of two tablespoons of dishwashing liquid in one liter of warm water. Apply the solution directly to the affected area, and then rub gently. Allow the solution to sit for five minutes.

Step 4: Wash Dress

Remove the dress from the cold water and place it into a washing machine set on delicate cycle. Use a mild detergent, such as Woolite, and avoid using bleach or fabric softeners. Wash the dress for five minutes.

Step 5: Dry the Dress

Once the washing cycle is complete, carefully remove the dress from the machine and allow it to air dry on a flat surface, away from direct sunlight. Never put the garment in a dryer or use a clothing iron, as heat could cause the stain to set permanently.
