If the jacket is fabric, it’s best to begin by scraping off as much of the dried vomit as possible. Then, using cold water, rinse the area and then blot the spot with a clean paper towel or rag. If possible, pretreat the area with a laundry detergent designed to tackle tough stains. Leave this on for at least 5 minutes before rinsing with cold water. After rinsing the area, you can throw the jacket in the washing machine with a mild detergent and let it do the rest of the work. After the wash cycle is finished, allow the jacket to air dry.
Leather jackets require a bit more care when removing vomit stains. First, you should mix one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid with one cup of warm water. With a soft cloth, wipe the affected area with this solution and then immediately rinse with cold water. After patting the area dry with a clean cloth. you can dab the area with a small amount of undiluted white vinegar and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. You can then use a soft brush to brush away any remaining debris. Finally, located a leather conditioner or shoe polish to restore any luster and shine that you may have lost during the cleaning process.
