Quick & Easy Guide to Removing Vomit Stains From Your Coat

Removing Vomit from Wool Coats

  1. Scrape off as much of the vomit as possible with a paper towel or a spoon.
  2. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water. Dip a soft cloth into the mixture, and gently dab the stain.
  3. Let the solution sit for 10 minutes, then rinse the area with cold water.
  4. Place the garment in a basin of cool water, and add a few drops of a mild detergent.
  5. Soak the garment for several hours, then rinse it with cold water.
  6. Press out excess liquid, and lay the coat flat to dry.

Removing Vomit from Cotton Coats

  1. Scrape off as much of the vomit as possible with a paper towel or a spoon.
  2. Mix 1 teaspoon of dishwashing detergent with one cup of warm water.
  3. Dampen a soft cloth in the mixture, and gently dab the stain. Let the solution sit for 15 minutes, then rinse the area with cold water.
  4. Launder the coat as usual.

Removing Vomit from Leather Coats

  1. Scrape off as much of the vomit as possible with a paper towel or a spoon.
  2. Mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with one cup of warm water.
  3. Dip a soft cloth in the mixture, and gently dab the stain. Dab the area with a damp cloth afterward to remove any excess vinegar.
  4. Allow coat to air dry.

Removing Vomit from Suede Coats

  1. Scrape off as much of the vomit as possible with a paper towel or a spoon.
  2. Use a soft-bristled brush to remove any remaining residue.
  3. Dampen a soft cloth in rubbing alcohol and gently dab the stain.
  4. Allow the coat to air dry.
