Pre-Soaking

Before attempting any other stain removal techniques, pre-soak the item in cold water as soon as possible. When it comes to vomit, time is of the essence. You should be sure to soak the fabric for 30 minutes to an hour in order to loosen the stain.

Detergent and Vinegar Solution

Once the soaking period has ended, prepare a solution of detergent and white vinegar. Start by rubbing a mild liquid detergent into the stained area and then fill a bowl with 2 parts cold water and 1 part white vinegar. Submerge soiled fabric in the bowl and let it sit for 15 minutes. Afterward, rinse the fabric well before laying it out flat to air dry.

Baking Soda Paste

Another effective method for removing vomit stains from chiffon georgette fabric is to use a baking soda paste. Begin by mixing together 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 2 teaspoons of cold water until they are thoroughly combined. Apply the paste directly to the stain and let it sit on the fabric for approximately 10 minutes. Finally, use a soft cloth to gently rub paste into area before thoroughly rinsing off with cold water.

Hydrogen Peroxide

If all else fails, you may need to resort to using hydrogen peroxide. Before applying this product to the fabric, be sure to test it on a hidden area of the fabric to make sure it won’t damage or discolor it. Once test passes, mix together equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and cold water and use a cloth to dab solution onto the affected area. Gently massage the solution into the fabric and then leave it to sit for no more than 30 minutes. Rinse the solution off thoroughly with cold water and re-wash the fabric.
