The first step is to absorb as much of the vomit as possible. Use paper towels to soak up as much of the liquid as you can. Once you’ve done that, rinse the area with cold water to get rid of any remaining residue.
Once area is rinsed, it’s time to treat stain with a soap or detergent. Mix a solution of one teaspoon of mild soap or detergent with two cups of cold water in a bowl. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with the solution and allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes.
When the 10-15 minutes are up, rinse area with cold water once again and blot area dry with a clean white cloth.
This step is optional, but if you want to get rid of any stubborn stains, try treating the area with a mixture of white vinegar and baking soda. Mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with one teaspoon of baking soda in a bowl and apply the mixture to the stain. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes and then rinse off with cold water. Once the area is rinsed, blot dry again.
If stain still won’t come out, you can try using a can of compressed air. This will create a blast of air that will help to dislodge the stain. Just point the nozzle at the stain and spray away.
Vomit stains can be difficult to remove, but with a little bit of elbow grease, you can get that cargo pant looking like new in no time. Follow the instructions above to get rid of those stubborn stains and you'll be ready for whatever life throws your way.
