What You Need

  • Small bowl
  • Laundry detergent
  • Oxygen bleach (optional)
  • White cloth or paper towel
  • Spray bottle of cold water

Steps to Clean Vomit Stains from Cardigan

  1. Scrape off any large chunks of vomit with a spoon or spatula.
  2. Mix a few drops of laundry detergent in a small bowl of cool water.
  3. Dampen a white cloth or paper towel in solution, then squeeze out the excess liquid.
  4. Blot the stain with the wet cloth. Do not rub or scrub the stain, as this can cause further damage to the fabric.
  5. If the stain persists, add a few drops of oxygen bleach to the solution and repeat the blotting process with a fresh cloth.
  6. Once stain is gone, spray the area with cold water to rinse it well.
  7. Allow the cardigan to air dry before putting it in the washing machine.

Tips for Success

  • Use a white cloth or paper towel - colored materials may transfer color to cardigan.
  • If stain is still present after a few attempts at cleaning, take the cardigan to a professional cleaner.
  • Always read and follow the care label on the cardigan.
