To properly clean a vomit stain from broomstick lace, begin by flushing area with cold running water. Be sure to flush from the back of the fabric, as this will push the stain away from the material instead of pushing it deeper into the fibers. After flushing, mix one tablespoon of laundry detergent with two cups of cold water and blot the spot with a white cloth.
Next, take a clean white cloth, dampen it and then wring it out thoroughly before dabbing at the spot, blending in outward circles. Do not rub or scrub the area, as this may damage the broomstick lace fabric.
Once the spot has been soaked and blotted, let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing the garment with cold water. Once the item has been rinsed, use a color-safe bleach to treat any remaining discoloration. Mix one part bleach with four parts of cold water and use a white cloth to dab at the affected areas.
Lastly, machine wash the item in the hottest water temperature safe for the fabric, making sure to add a pre-wash stain remover. Line dry or tumble dry on the lowest heat setting. For tough stains, the process may need to be repeated.
Learning how to remove vomit stains from broomstick lace doesn't have to be intimidating. With the right cleaning supplies and techniques, any stain can be removed with ease and the fabric restored to its original beauty.
