What You'll Need

  • Cold water
  • Washing Machine
  • Laundry detergent/pre-treatment
  • Borax powder
  • White vinegar
  • Clean cloths

Step-by-Step Guide to Removing Vomit Stains From Your Blazer

  1. Before doing anything else, take the blazer out of its garment bag and lay it flat on a clean surface. Make sure the fabric is free of excess dirt and debris.
  2. Take a clean white cloth and blot at the stain. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing fabric, as this could cause it to become distorted and damage the fibers.
  3. Place any other soiled areas under cold running water and blot at the stain. Do not put the entire blazer into the water.
  4. Create a mixture of one tablespoon of laundry detergent and two cups of cold water. Pour this mixture over the vomit stain.
  5. Allow the mixture to sit for 10-15 minutes and then rinse with cold water.
  6. If the vomit stain is still present, create a mixture of one tablespoon of Borax powder and one cup of cold water. Soak the stain in this mixture for 10-15 minutes then rinse with cold water.
  7. If the stain still remains, mix one part white vinegar with two parts cold water. Soak the stain in this mixture for 10-15 minutes and rinse again.
  8. If the stain still remains, you can try soaking the blazer in a mixture of cold water and enzyme-based laundry detergent overnight.
  9. After the stain has been removed, wash the blazer according to manufacturer's instructions. Hang to dry and avoid putting it in the dryer.
