No matter how hard we try, accidents can happen – and sometimes those accidents happen in middle of a special event. While it’s never fun (for anyone) to deal with a vomitus disaster, the good news is that there is an effective way to remove the stain from your beloved ball gown.

Step 1: Blot the Stain Immediately

The first thing you should do when you encounter a vomitus mess is to blot up as much of the liquid as possible with a damp towel. You want to be sure to not rub or spread stain, as doing so could end up setting it further into fabric.

Step 2: Pre-treat the Stain

Once you’ve blotted up as much of the liquid as possible, you want to pre-treat the area by spraying it with a high-quality stain remover. Leave remover on the spot for 10 to 20 minutes to ensure stain has been loosened.

Step 3: Wash the Fabric

When the pre-treatment time is up, it’s time to give the garment a thorough washing. You want to use a bleach-free detergent, such as our Luxury Fabric Cleaner , to avoid any damage to the delicate fabric. If the garment can be safely machine washed, do so; otherwise, hand wash it.

Step 4: Rinse and Dry

Once you’ve washed the garment, make sure to rinse it thoroughly, then hang it up to dry in a well-ventilated area.
