The first thing to remember when dealing with vomit stains on your appliances is not to panic. You need a level head and the right materials to get job done.
Gather the supplies you’re going to need for job. This will include rags and paper towels, a cleaning solution of your choice, rubber gloves and a plastic bag.
Start by carefully scooping the vomit from the appliance with a few paper towels. Discard the towels into the plastic bag and tie the bag securely. Put on your rubber gloves and then use a rag moistened with the cleaning solution to clean the area where the vomit was. Rinse the area with a clean cloth dampened with warm water.
If there are still any vomit stains left on the appliance, apply a spot cleaner. Follow the directions on spot cleaner to ensure the best results. Be careful not to scrub the stain as this may cause it to spread.
Once stain has been removed, you should disinfect the area where the vomit was. To do this, use a mild bleach or hydrogen peroxide solution and a cloth or sponge to wipe down the area. Allow the area to dry completely before using the appliance again.
To prevent other family members from coming into contact with the vomit, it’s wise to cordon off the area by placing a chair or other object near the appliance. This will remind everyone to be careful in that area until the vomiting incident is forgotten.
