Take your stained item and soak it in cold water immediately after vomit stain has occurred. Keep the item submerged for at least 15 minutes. This will help loosen vomit stain before it sets into the fabric.
Mix a solution of liquid soap and warm water in a bowl. Dip a cleaning towel into the mixture and blot the vomit stain until it is evenly saturated. Rinse it out with cold water and set aside.
Create a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water (1-part hydrogen peroxide to 4-parts water). Apply the solution directly to the vomit stain, using a clean cloth. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes, then rinse it off with cold water.
Mix 1-part white vinegar and 2-parts water in a bowl. Dip a cleaning cloth into the mixture and blot the vomit stain until it is saturated. Let it sit for 30 minutes, then rinse with cold water.
Sprinkle some baking soda directly onto the vomit stain. Rub it into the fabric and let it sit for 1-2 hours. Afterward, brush off any baking soda residue and rinse with cold water.
Finally, use an iron on the lowest heat setting to “set” the vomit stain. This will help ensure that the stain is completely gone and won’t reappear after washing.
Removing vomit stains from activewear can seem tricky, but by following these steps you can get your clothing looking like new again in no time. Just make sure to act fast, as longer the stain sits, harder it will be to remove.
