Step 1: Blot the Vomit

Using a paper towel or cloth, gently blot area to absorb as much liquid as possible. You don't want to rub or scrub, as this will spread stain further.

Step 2: Pre-treat the Stain

Mix a solution of one teaspoon of liquid dish soap and two cups of cold water. Use a clean cloth to dab the solution on towel. Let it sit for five minutes before washing.

Step 3: Wash the Fabric

Using a gentle cycle and water temperature appropriate for your fabric, wash the affected area as soon as possible after pre-treatment. Add a scoop of enzymatic detergent to the washing machine to help break up the proteins in the vomit.

Step 4: Check Stain

Check fabric after it's been washed and dried. If any of the stain remains, repeat steps two and three. If the stain is still visible, repeat steps two and three again, but this time try adding a color-safe bleach.

Step 5: Dry the Fabric

Once the stain has been completely removed, put the fabric in the dryer. Make sure setting is appropriate for the fabric. Check it after the cycle is complete to ensure all the stain has been removed.
