To get started, make sure you have the following:

  • A soft-bristled brush
  • White vinegar
  • Lemon juice or club soda
  • Cotton swab
  • Liquid detergent
  • Soft cloths

Step 1: Remove Excess Varnish

Using the soft-bristled brush, gently scrub off any excess varnish. Be sure not to use too much pressure as you might damage the fabric.

Step 2: Mix Vinegar and Lemon Juice

Mix together equal parts white vinegar and lemon juice or club soda. Make sure to use only fresh juices for this step.

Step 3: Soak a Cotton Swab in the Mixture

Once mixture is ready, soak a cotton swab in it. Then, apply the swab directly onto the stain.

Step 4: Rinse with Water

After letting the mixture sit on stain for a few minutes, rinse it off using cold water.

Step 5: Apply Liquid Detergent to Stain

Once the stain has been rinsed off, apply a small amount of liquid detergent directly to the affected area. Allow the detergent to sit for several minutes before rinsing with cold water.

Step 6: Blot with Soft Cloths

Finally, blot area with clean, soft cloths until all of the moisture has been absorbed.

With these simple steps, you can successfully remove any varnish stains from your Versace items. Just make sure to test the solutions on a hidden part of the fabric before using them on the stain.
