Using Vinegar

Vinegar is a great home remedy for varnish stains. Start by cleaning the stain with a damp cloth and some mild dish soap. Next, fill a spray bottle with white vinegar and water in a 1:1 ratio. Spray the mixture directly onto the stain and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.

Then use a scrub brush or a soft rag to rub the varnish away. Finally, rinse the area with cold water and allow the shoes to air dry.

Using Rubbing Alcohol

Rubbing alcohol is another effective way to remove varnish from your vans. First, mix together rubbing alcohol and water in a 1:3 ratio. Then, use a soft cloth to apply the mixture to the stain. Allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes, then gently scrub the area with a brush.

Finally, rinse the area with cold water and allow the shoes to air dry.

Other Tips:

  • For stubborn stains, you can use a towel soaked in hot water and leave it on the stain for an hour before scrubbing.
  • Always use a mild cleanser and gentle scrubbing motion to avoid damaging the fabric of the shoe.
  • Be sure to dry the shoes completely before applying a protector such as a waterproofing spray.
