Removing Varnish Stains from Tussah
- Start by testing a small area of your tussah, to make sure it won’t be damaged by your cleaning method. Dab a little bit of acetone, white spirit or paint thinner onto an inconspicuous part of your fabric – if it stains the fabric, do not proceed.
- Mix white vinegar with two cups of warm water. Soak a rag into the mixture and wring it out.
- Gently blot the stained area with the cloth, working from the outside inward.
- Allow the area to air dry.
- Vacuum the area when dry to remove excess dirt and dust.
