What You Will Need

  • A bucket of warm water
  • Detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Toothbrush

Step 1: Soak the Shirt in Warm Water and Detergent

The first step to remove varnish stains from your t-shirt is to soak it in a bucket of warm water with some detergent. Let the stain soak for about 30 minutes before scrubbing.

Step 2: Scrub the Stain With a Toothbrush

Take a toothbrush and gently scrub the stained area with the detergent and warm water. This will help to loosen the stain and make it easier to remove.

Step 3: Rinse the Stained Area with Vinegar and Baking Soda

After scrubbing the stain with a toothbrush, rinse the area with a mixture of white vinegar and baking soda. Let this sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.

Step 4: Wash Shirt in the Washing Machine

Once you’ve rinsed the stained area with the vinegar and baking soda mixture, throw your t-shirt in the washing machine. Wash it on a regular cycle with regular detergent.

Step 5: Dry the Shirt in Sun

Finally, hang your shirt on the line in the sun to dry. The sun’s UV rays will help to further fade the stain so it won’t be noticeable.

And that's it! You now know how to easily remove varnish stains from your t-shirt.
