Take a white cotton cloth and dampen it with cold water. Gently blot the stained area until you have removed as much of the varnish as possible. Be careful not to rub the fabric, as this could cause the stain to spread and make it harder to remove.
Mix a solution of one teaspoon of liquid dish soap and two tablespoons of white vinegar in a bowl. Dip a clean white cloth in the solution and gently dab stained area. Avoid scrubbing or rubbing the fabric as this could damage the lace.
Rinse stained area with cold water and then lay the lace flat to air dry. Do not use a hairdryer or washing machine, as this could cause further damage.
