Follow these steps to help you get rid of pesky varnish stains on your favorite sweatshirt without damaging the fabric:

Step 1: Prepare Soapy Water Solution

Mix a teaspoon of detergent with lukewarm water in a bowl. Make sure to use a gentle detergent so as not to damage the fabric of your sweatshirt.

Step 2: Saturate Stained Area

Using a sponge or cloth, gently saturate stained area with the soapy water solution. Do not scrub as it can cause further damage.

Step 3: Use Brush or Toothbrush to Gently Lift Stains

Using a soft-bristled brush or toothbrush, very gently lift varnish stain from the fabric. You may need to repeat this several times before all of the stain has been removed.

Step 4: Rinse with Water

Once the stain has been removed, rinse the area with lukewarm water. Be sure to use same circular motion used when applying the soapy solution to ensure that all excess is removed.

Step 5: Dry Sweatshirt

Finally, lay your sweatshirt flat and leave to air dry. Avoid using a dryer as it may shrink the fabric.
