What You Will Need:

  • White vinegar
  • A bowl or container large enough to submerge the stocking
  • A small brush or cloth
  • Objects (coins, heavy rocks, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. Fill the bowl with white vinegar, making sure it's enough to fully submerge the stocking.
  2. Place stocking in the bowl, and add the objects to ensure it stays submerged.
  3. Let the stocking soak in the vinegar for approximately 10 minutes.
  4. Take the stocking out of vinegar, and use a brush or cloth to scrub the stain gently.
  5. Rinse the stain off with cold water.
  6. If stain is still visible, repeat process until it’s gone.

Tips for Prevention:

  • Always keep your stockings away from any liquids that could contain varnish.
  • Store your stockings in a drawer so that they do not come into contact with any elements that can cause staining.
