The first step is to create a solution of warm water and mild detergent. Soak the socks in the solution for at least 30 minutes. This will help to loosen the varnish stains. You may need to repeat this process several times if the stains are particularly stubborn.
Once the socks have been soaked in solution, apply a stain remover or specialist cleaning product directly to stained area. Use a soft brush to work solution into the fabric. Leave it for a few minutes before rinsing the socks thoroughly with clean water.
The final step is to follow the instructions on care label and wash the socks in the washing machine with a gentle detergent. Place the socks inside mesh laundry bags to protect them during the washing cycle. Air dry the socks afterwards, taking care not to expose them to direct heat.
Removing varnish stains from socks can seem like a daunting task. But by following these three simple steps, you should be able to get rid of the stains and enjoy your socks again. So don’t give up – give these steps a try!
