Varnish stains on a scarf can be tricky to remove. If you want to preserve the delicate fabrics of your favorite accessory, you’ll need to be careful when cleaning it. Here are the three steps you need to follow to get rid of varnish stain.

Step 1: Test a Cleaning Solution

Before you begin, it’s important to test the cleaning solution on the scarf. Varnish stains are notoriously tricky to remove and can be easily damaged by the wrong cleaning agent. The best way to do this is to take a small portion of the fabric that isn’t visible – such as inside hem or side seams – and dab it with a damp cloth and a small amount of detergent.

Step 2: Spot Treat the Stain

Once you’ve identified the safest cleaning solution, you can move on to spot treating the varnish stain. Start by dampening the stain slightly with a wet cloth. Then, dab the stain with the cleaning solution. Be careful not to rub the stain too hard or use too much cleaner, as this could damage the fabric. Allow the cleaner to sit on the stain for a few minutes and then blot it off with a dry cloth.

Step 3: Wash Scarf

Once the stain has been removed, you’ll need to wash the entire scarf to remove any residue from the cleaner. Follow the instructions on the tag to ensure that the scarf doesn’t shrink or become misshapen. Then, lay the scarf flat to air dry.

With these three steps, you can restore your scarf back to its former glory and get rid of stubborn varnish stains. Now, you can admire your sparkling clean accessory without worry!
