Step 1: Blot up excess varnish from the fabric

Use a clean, lint-free cloth or paper towels to blot up any excess varnish that is still moist on fabric. Be sure to use light pressure as you blot and do not rub. Rubbing might cause discoloration, so it's best to stick to blotting.

Step 2: Place the sarong in cold water

Fill a sink or tub with cold water, then submerge the stained area of the sarong. Let the sarong soak for at least 15 minutes, then rinse it out thoroughly with cold water.

Step 3: Mix a solution of dish soap and baking soda

In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of dish soap with 1/4 cup of baking soda. Stir the mixture until it becomes a paste.

Step 4: Apply the paste directly to the stain

Using a soft cloth or brush, work the paste into the stained area. Be sure to do this gently, and use circular motions. Allow the paste to sit for 10 minutes, then rinse off with cold water.

Step 5: Repeat as needed

Repeat the process if necessary until the stain is no longer visible. If stain has set in, you may need to repeat process several times.

Step 6: Hang your sarong to air dry

Once the stain is gone, hang your sarong in a well-ventilated area to air dry. Avoid direct sunlight, as this could cause fading.
