Pongee fabric is a type of silk fabric that is known for its soft texture and durability. Unfortunately, it can often be prone to staining due to its luxurious feel. Varnish stains are especially difficult to remove, but don't fret; here's how you can do it.
Before attempting to clean the stain, make sure to prepare area by removing any excess varnish. Use a razor blade or other sharp object to carefully scrape off any residual varnish. Be sure to take caution so as not to damage the fabric.
Once the area is prepped, use a clean, absorbent cloth to blot the stain. This will help to lift varnish from the pongee fabric's surface. Start in the center and work your way outwards in order to keep the stain contained.
Finally, create a cleaning solution using warm water and gentle detergent. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and gently dab the stain. Continue this process until the stain has been completely removed. Once finished, rinse area with cold water and pat dry with a towel.
