Step 1: Gather Supplies

The first step in removing varnish stains from your mattress is gathering all of the necessary supplies. You will need white vinegar, a bucket or bowl, baking soda, a sponge, a brush, clean rags or towels, an iron, and a vacuum cleaner.

Step 2: Make a Paste

Once you have all of the necessary supplies, the next step is to make a paste. In a bucket or bowl, mix 1/4 cup of white vinegar with 1/4 cup of baking soda. Stir mixture until it forms a paste.

Step 3: Apply the Paste to the Stain

Once you have the paste ready, it’s time to apply it to the varnish stain. Using the sponge, apply the paste directly to stain and let it sit for about 15 minutes.

Step 4: Scrub and Vacuum

After the 15 minutes are up, use the brush to scrub the stained area. Be sure to use gentle strokes so as not to damage the mattress. Once you are finished, use the vacuum cleaner to suck up any remaining bits of paste or debris.

Step 5: Iron Out the Stain

The final step in removing the varnish stain is to use the iron to heat up the area. Place a clean rag or towel over the stain and press the iron onto fabric for 10-15 seconds. The heat will help set the paste into the mattress and make it easier to remove stain. Repeat this process until the stain has been removed.
