What You’ll Need

  • Dish soap or laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • A clean cloth
  • Baking soda (optional)

Step 1: Soak Jeans

Fill a sink or a bucket with warm water and add a small amount of dish soap or laundry detergent. Gently agitate the water so that it suds up. Then, place the jeans in the soapy water and let it soak for around 30 minutes.

Step 2: Blot the Stain

After the jeans have soaked, take them out of the water and blot stained area with a clean cloth. Make sure to press firmly but gently so that you don't spread the stain. This will help to remove any excess varnish from the fabric.

Step 3: Wash the Jeans

Once the fabric has been blotted, it's time to wash jeans. Add a cup of white vinegar to a washing machine filled with warm water and then place the jeans in the machine. Run cycle on the delicate setting and use a gentle detergent. This will help to remove any remaining varnish from fabric.

Step 4: Rinse and Dry

Once the washing cycle is complete, take the jeans out of the washing machine and rinse them in cold water. Then, hang jeans in the sun to dry. If the stain is still visible, you can try sprinkling a bit of baking soda on stain and letting it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it off. This should help to remove any stubborn stains.
