The first step in cleaning varnish stains from Fila shoes is to gather together the supplies you’ll need. You’ll need a clean cloth, an old toothbrush, warm water, laundry detergent, and a mild dishwashing liquid.
Next, dampen the cloth in warm water and add a few drops of laundry detergent. Gently rub the affected area with the cloth to help dissolve the varnish stain. Repeat this process several times until stain has been removed.
Once you’ve removed as much of varnish as possible with the cloth and detergent, use an old toothbrush to scrub the affected area. Move the brush in small circles over the stain to loosen any stubborn residue.
After you’ve scrubbed the stain with the toothbrush, rinse it with warm water. If any of stain remains, repeat steps 2 and 3 until it’s gone.
Finally, apply a small amount of mild dishwashing liquid to the area of the stain and rub it onto the shoe. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before rinsing with warm water.
Once you’re finished, air dry shoes in a well-ventilated area and they’ll be good as new!
