Step #1: Prepare the Cleaning Solution

Mix equal parts of warm water and laundry detergent in a spray bottle or bowl. This solution will be used to treat the stains, so make sure to give it a good stir.

Step #2: Spray or Soak the Espadrilles

If the varnish stain is large, then you should soak the shoes in the cleaning solution for a few minutes. On the other hand, if the stain is small, spray the cleaning solution directly onto the affected area.

Step #3: Scrub the Varnish Away

Finally, use a toothbrush or soft cloth to scrub the stain. Once the varnish has been removed, rinse the shoes with warm water. Let them air dry or use a clean rag to dry them off.
