Step One: Scrape Off Excess Varnish with a Dull Knife

First, use a dull knife to scrape off as much of the excess varnish as possible. Take care not to press too hard or you may wind up damaging or tearing the fabric. Any left-over chunks should come off easily.

Step Two: Pretreat Stain with a Detergent

Next, use a detergent to pretreat the stain before washing the coveralls in a washing machine. Start by spraying the detergent directly onto the stained area, or mix it with water in a spray bottle and apply that instead. Allow the detergent to sit for about 15 minutes before rinsing the coveralls off with cool water.

Step Three: Wash the Coveralls in a Washing Machine

Finally, place the coveralls in a washing machine and run it on the gentle cycle using cold water. Make sure to read the cleaning instructions for the varnish and the coveralls before running machine to prevent any damage. After the cycle is complete, inspect the coveralls for any remaining stains.

Step Four: Dry Coveralls

Once you have inspected the coveralls for any remaining stains, you can dry the fabric on a low setting in the dryer or by hanging it outdoors. Once the coveralls are completely dry, they should look like new!
