In order to effectively remove a varnish stain from any clothing item, you will need a few handy household supplies. Gather laundry detergent, a laundry stain remover, a dry cleaning solution, a soft-bristled brush, and a clean rag or towel.
Before attempting to use the brush or scrubbing technique, it’s important to pre-treat stained area of the fabric. Start by dampening a clean rag with lukewarm water, then apply laundry detergent directly to the stain. If the stain is especially stubborn, you can also use a laundry stain remover as an extra pre-treatment step.
Next, dip the soft bristled brush into dry cleaning solution and gently work on the stained area in a circular motion. This should help to loosen the stain from the fabric and also lift any residue that has been left behind.
Once you've loosened the stain from the fabric, rinse it thoroughly with lukewarm water and repeat steps 2 and 3 until the stain has been completely removed.
Once you're finished, lay garment flat on a towel to air dry. Do not put item in the dryer until you are certain that the stain has been completely removed and that the fabric is completely dry.
