Step 1: Apply acetone

Acetone is great for removing varnish stains. Start by blotting the stain with a clean cloth dipped in acetone and work inwards towards the center of the stain. Use a gentle circular motion as you go. Continue until varnish has dissolved and the stain has lifted.

Step 2: Rinse with water

Once the varnish has been removed, rinse the area with cold water. This will help get rid of any residue left behind by the acetone. Once rinsed then blot the area dry with a towel or paper towel.

Step 3: Use a stain remover

Once the area is dry, use a stain remover to help lift any remaining traces of varnish. There are a variety of stain removers available on the market, so be sure to read instructions carefully before use.

Step 4: Wash in the washing machine

Finally, it's time to wash your chinos! Set your washing machine to the delicate cycle and add a mild detergent. Once the chinos have been washed, hang them up to air dry.
