What You'll Need

  • Dry Cleaner's Sponges
  • Mild Detergent
  • White Vinegar
  • Cotton Balls

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Using a dry cleaner's sponge, start blotting the stain gently, being careful not to spread it. Make sure you are working from the outside of the stain towards center to avoid furthering the spread.

Step 2: Mix a Detergent Solution

Mix a solution of warm water and a mild detergent in a bowl. Dip the sponge in solution and wring out any excess. Begin to apply the solution to the stain, again, using a gentle blotting motion.

Step 3: Rinse and Repeat

Rinse the area with cold water and repeat steps one and two until you no longer see any trace of the stain.

Step 4: Add White Vinegar

If stain is still visible, add white vinegar to a cotton ball and pat the area. Continue until the stain has been removed. Rinse the area with cool water.

Step 5: Launder the Garment

To finish, launder the garment according to the instructions on its label.
