Urine stains on workwear can be embarrassing and difficult to clean. You don't want to have to invest in new clothes, and unfortunately, the accident may not always happen at home, leaving you with fewer resources for stain removal. Fortunately, there are several methods you can try to remove urine stains from your workwear.

Borax and Water Solution

Develop a Borax solution by combining one cup of borax with one gallon of hot water. Dip a clean cloth into the solution and dab it onto the stained area until the stain disappears. If necessary, repeat the process with a second cloth to get most out of the Borax solution. Afterwards, rinse the fabric with cold water and launder it as you normally would.

White Vinegar and Water

Creating a white vinegar and water solution is another method you can try. Mix one part white vinegar with two parts water and soak the spot for an hour. After soaking, rinse with cold water and launder as usual.

Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda

For serious stains, try a hydrogen peroxide and baking soda solution. Start by mixing a paste of three parts baking soda and one part hydrogen peroxide, then rub it onto the affected area. Let it sit for a few minutes and scrub the spot. Rinse thoroughly and launder as normal. For best results, do this before putting the stained article in the dryer.

OxiClean

If you prefer a store-bought solution, try OxiClean. Check the package instructions for the correct amount of OxiClean powder to mix with water. Make sure the mixture is completely dissolved in the water before contacting it with your hands or fabric. Soak the stained article in the solution for a few hours, and then launder like normal.

Use Caution

As with any cleaning process, care should be taken to ensure that fabrics don’t become damaged. Always check that any substance used is safe for the material before beginning the stain-removal process. And it never hurts to check the fabric care label for recommendations.
