Urine on wedges is a seemingly inevitable problem for many. You turn around and BOOM – there it is! What's the best way to get rid of it? Here are some steps to help you tackle the issue:

  • If the urine is still wet, use a paper towel or rag to immediately begin soaking up the moisture. Don't rub the urine into the wedge further.
  • Boil a pot of water and pour it over the affected area. The hot water will help to dilute stain before you begin to treat it.
  • Spray a solution of half water and half alkaline-based cleaning product directly onto the urine stain. Let mixture soak in for a few minutes.
  • Scrub affected area with a soft brush, working in small circles around the stain. Brush a little more of cleaning solution onto the spot as needed.
  • Soak the wedge in a basin of warm water and two cups of vinegar for about an hour. This will help to neutralize the acid that may be in the urine.
  • Rinse wedges with cold water and hang them to dry.

Now you know how to clean urine from your wedges, but what about prevention? The following tips can help to keep your shoes pristine and free of pesky stains:

  • Protect soles of your shoes. Buy a waterproof spray and use it to seal any exposed areas. This extra layer of protection helps to keep the liquid out.
  • Encourage your pet to go outside. If you have a dog, try to train it to go to the bathroom outdoors.
  • Keep your wedges in an area that's off-limits to your pets. This will help to discourage your pet from urinating on them.
  • Clean up any spills as soon as they occur. Don't let urine sit for too long, as it can cause staining or damage to the material.
  • Be sure to check for urine stains regularly. This will allow you to catch the issue early and treat it before it sets in.

By following these tips and using the steps outlined above, you'll soon have your favorite pair of wedges looking good as new. Now you can strut your stuff with confidence!
