Urine stains are one of the most common kinds of stains, and they can easily land on your wallet too. Typically, urine stains occur because of an accident, and they can be especially difficult to remove since they often contain proteins. Luckily, there are some tried-and-tested ways of getting rid of them so that you don’t have to replace your wallet.
As soon as possible, use a paper towel or a piece of cloth to blot up as much of the urine as possible from the wallet. This will help you minimize the extent of the stain and make it a lot easier for you to remove it.
Before you start washing it, you should pretreat the stain using a cleaning solution of your choice. Some good options include all-purpose cleaner, laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, vinegar, and even citrus-based products like lemon juice and orange oil.
Once you've chosen the cleaning solution, apply it to the stain and leave it to act for 30 minutes. Then, use a brush to scrub the area. Doing this should help break up proteins and make the stain easier to remove.
In a bowl, mix together two parts of warm water with one part of detergent. You can use either liquid detergent or powdered detergent, depending on what you have at hand. Then, use a sponge or cloth to clean the stained area of your wallet.
Once you're done cleaning the wallet, rinse it thoroughly with cold water. This will help remove any soap residue that may still be left behind. Additionally, you can also use a clean cloth to press out any excess moisture before drying wallet.
Now that the wallet is completely clean, you need to dry it. First, use a hair dryer to blow air on the surface of the wallet. Then, prop open the wallet and place it in an area where it can dry completely.
