The first step is to scrape off any dried stains with a spoon or spatula. Make sure to remove as much urine as possible before continuing. Next, pour cold water over the affected area. If the stain is still visible, try mixing white vinegar and warm water and applying it to the stain. Gently agitate the area to work solution into the stain. Rinse with water and repeat if necessary.

For deeper stains, mix a tablespoon of enzymatic detergent (such as BioKleen) with one cup of cold water. Fill a spray bottle with the detergent solution and apply evenly to the stained area. Let it stand for a few minutes, then scrub gently with a brush. Wipe the area with a damp cloth, then rinse with cold water. You may need to repeat this process a few times.

Once you have removed the urine stains, you can use a combination of vinegar, baking soda and cold water to prevent any odors. Mix 1/4 cup of white vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and 1/2 cup of cold water. Apply to the affected area, let it sit for about 10 minutes, and then wipe clean with a wet cloth. Rinse with cold water and repeat if necessary.

With these simple steps, you can restore tartan fabric to its original condition - free of urine stains and odors. But if you don't have time or patience to tackle the task yourself, a professional cleaner can help you out.
