Urine stains can quickly turn your favorite tank top into an eyesore, but don’t despair. There are multiple methods you can use to tackle these stubborn stains. Start by testing your chosen solution in a small and inconspicuous area of the tank top to ensure it does not damage the material.

Using Detergent

To start, apply a few drops of laundry detergent to the stained area and let it sit for a few minutes. You may also want to heavily saturate the stain with cold water and then press it firmly with a clean cloth, squeezing out any excess liquid. Once done, put the top in the wash with your normal detergent and wait for the cycle to finish.

Bleaching

If above method isn’t effective, try a bleach-based cleaner. Before applying it to the entire top, pour a few drops of the bleach onto a clean cloth and test it on a small area of fabric. If the color remains unchanged, you can go ahead and use it on entire garment. Dilute the bleach with cold water and then apply it to the stain. Allow the mixture to sit for 10 minutes, then rinse it and repeat if needed. If the stain still persists, move on to another solution.

Vinegar Solution

Vinegar is an effective household cleaner, and it's especially great for getting rid of urine stains from delicate fabrics like your tank top. To make your own vinegar solution, mix one part white vinegar with two parts cold water and add a few drops of mild liquid dish soap. Soak tank top for 15 minutes, then rinse it thoroughly in cold water. Repeat if needed.

Baking Soda Paste

Another effective method is to make a baking soda paste. Mix one tablespoon of baking soda with two tablespoons of water, stirring until you’ve created a thick slurry. Apply the paste evenly over the stained area and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then, lightly scrub the area with a soft cloth and rinse the top with cold water. Finish the job by putting the garment in laundry and wash it as usual.

Conclusion

Urine stains don’t have to be a cause for concern anymore. Armed with these tips, you can easily tackle them and keep your tank top looking great. For best results, always test any cleaning solution on a small area of garment beforehand.
